VICINITY kick-off meeting: Starting the quest towards IoT connected virtual neighbourhoods!

Kick-off meeting

On 20-22 January 2016, the Technical University of Kaiserslautern hosted the kick-off meeting of the VICINITY project in Kaiserslautern, Germany. The project, funded by EU Programme Horizon 2020, brings together 15 partners from 9 European countries with leading-edge scientific knowledge and innovation capabilities from the research community (4), industry (3), SMEs (7) and municipalities (1). VICINITY aims to demonstrate IoT interoperability across diverse domains, including smart home, transversal energy and its applications, intelligent transport and parking as well as assisted living and eHealth environments.

The meeting was an exciting opportunity for consortium members to discuss the project objectives, provide their views and suggestions for the project outcomes and discuss the work schedule planned by the project’s agreement.
